Opłatki Christmas Wafers Set of 4
The Polish Christmas tradition of Opłatki (Christmas Wafer), is a beautiful and important one. The Breaking of Bread is a sign of charity, unity and fellowship. The wafer is blessed by the eldest family member, offering a prayer for God’s grace and blessing for health, happiness, and forgiveness.
The Opłatki are distributed to all the family members. Then each person shares their Opłatki with every other person present, wishing them a Merry Christmas, (Wesołych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia). Often a piece of the Opłatki is mailed to absent family.
While all of the wafers are made for human consumption, the pink wafer included is for the animals in the home. After all, the animals near the manger were there at His birth.
You will receive a set of 4 ( 3 White wafers and 1 Pink wafers.)

These are put together in house by our family! It is one of our cherished traditions.

This had been a tradition in my family when I was growing up this wafer is not available in my area so never had a chance continue the tradition however when I saw this on your site I was so excited it arrived on time nothing was broken hard to imagine being the wafers a re so delicate. Love the Oplaki story printed on the envelope. Just wish the print was a little darker. Reading the story, I learned for the first time in my life, that the pink wafer was for the animals. Growing up I recall a pink wafer which us girls tried to get to first. Obviously my parents didn't know it was for animals. Optatki was always done at Christmas. My grandmother would put a drop of honey on all the Optatki for everyone that was there for Christmas Eve dinner - the oldest of our family would share with the next oldest (my grandfather to my grandmother, and so on down to the next to the last oldest would with the last youngest member. Your Optatki brings back so many wonderful Christmas memories and now, I can share this with my family and grandchildren today. I wish my mom was still living with us, as she would have loved our sharing of our family tradition. Thank you so very much - and this IS our Polish Heritage.

Been trying to find these for along time plus since finding them through a small business even better!
